Ngoài những giới từ quen thuộc như on, it, at, under, to chúng ta vẫn còn rất nhiều giới từ khác cũng đóng vai trò không kém phần quan trọng trong tiếng Anh như:

- across: băng qua (đường)

Ex: He goes across the street.

- around: vòng qua

Ex: He goes on a tour around the city.

- away from ...: đi khỏi ...

Ex: He goes away from his city for his holiday.

- down: xuống

Ex: He put the down and thought about what he had read.

- up: lên

Ex: The price of petrol is going up.

- into: vào trong

Ex: He came into the room.

- off: ra khỏi

Ex: He took off the coat.

- under: ở dưới

Ex: He lies under the bed to hide himself.

- out: ở ngoài

Ex: She goes out in the rain.

- over: đi qua (sông, cây cầu)

Ex: The car goes over the bridge.

- past: đi ngang qua

Ex: She goes past us on the street.

- toward: hướng về

Ex: They went toward us.
